Join the Niskanen Center for a special Capitol Hill reception— Insiders’ Perspectives: The Forgotten Refugee Resettlement Consensus— on Thursday, September 19th in the Russell Senate Office Room 485 from 5:30-7:30pm.
The reception features a short discussion between Niskanen Senior Fellow Idean Salehyan and Jim Purcell, the former director of refugee programs for President Reagan. Drinks and light fare will be provided.
Marking the release of Niskanen’s newest paper on refugee resettlement, the event features Salehyan detailing the findings from interviews with 15 key experts in the refugee resettlement arena. Serving under Republican and Democratic administrations — and coming a variety of governmental and nongovernmental agencies — their collective experiences span over four decades and highlight the forgotten bipartisan consensus on refugee resettlement.
Please RSVP by September 18th by emailing Matthew La Corte at events@niskanencenter.org with your name, email, and office or affiliation.
