This week, the Yale Project on Climate Change Communication released an interactive map that shows public opinion about climate and climate policy by congressional district. The Washington Post and ABC News also released new poll results regarding public opinion and climate. The map and the poll findings are consistent with other recent measures of public opinion on climate: Americans want government intervention to address greenhouse gas emissions.
Highlights include the stunning visual of a map that shows a vast majority of Americans – including Texans – want the government to regulate carbon dioxide as a pollutant. The Washington Post/ABC News polls shows that 38% of respondents in favor of government action on climate feel strongly – compared to only 13% of those who “strongly” oppose government action on climate.
