Robert Saldin is the Director of the Mansfield Center’s Ethics and Public Affairs Program and a Professor of Political Science at the University of Montana. His most recent book is Never Trump: The Revolt of the Conservative Elites (Oxford, 2020), co-authored with Steven Teles. He’s also the author of When Bad Policy Makes Good Politics: Running the Numbers on Health Reform (Oxford, 2017) and War, the American States, and Politics since 1898 (Cambridge, 2011). Saldin’s work has also appeared in numerous scholarly journals as well as general interest outlets including The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Republic, National Affairs, and The American Interest.
