Last fall, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Subcommittee on Climate Risk released its report on assessing and managing climate risk in the U.S. financial sector. Since then, governments, regulators, and investors have been moving quickly to incorporate climate change into regulations and disclosure rules for public companies.
What will it look like for climate risk to go from a set of concerns that show up in the trade press, and occasional reports from the United Nations, to a material concern for firms and the broader financial sector?
